COVID-19

With the current events going on in the world, many people are concerned about how meat raffles will proceed.

It is currently up to each group and venue on whether or not a raffle will still be held. If a group decides not to hold their raffle, it is up to them on refunds or honoring the ticket at a future raffle.

WNYMEATRAFFLES will try their best to get information out as quick as possible in canceled or postponed meat raffles.

Please continue to check the website as well as our Facebook page for any information regarding cancelations.

If you do plans on attending a meat raffle, please keep a few things in mind!

•Wash your hands as often as you can
•Use hand sanitizer before and after dealing with money or tickets.
•Cover you nose and mouth when coughing and/or sneezing.
•HYDRATE! (With water)
•If you are sick, please do not risk yourself and others by attending a raffle. There will be more raffles to attend.

Sorry for the Delays!

You will always be the miracle that makes my life complete.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve gotten many emails from worried people in regards to flyers and submissions. My wholehearted apologies to all! I have been trying my absolute best but have been unable to keep up with all of the emails.

My life will get more hectic over the next few weeks and months as I welcome a new one into the world very soon. As most know, with pregnancy comes absolute exhaustion. I work two jobs, run two websites, and already have my hands and heart full with one spirited and fast paced little guy at home.

Thankfully, my husband has been helping out and has gotten many November flyers posted and we will continue to work on the website over the next couple of days to get all of November flyers posted!

I know this website has a huge following and many rely on the site for ticket sales, so again, I apologize profusely for not getting them up within the timeframe I promised.

Thanks,

Admin

Newsletter Sign Up Page

Hey Guys! You may have noticed that a page disappeared and you’re probably wondering where it went. Well, I deleted it! But don’t worry, you can sign up for our newsletter through a different form on our “Contact Us” page. I’ve decided to make this change because people were submitting requests for a newsletter but to me, it didn’t look like it. It looked like I was getting submissions for information on meat raffles. But that’s okay! I haven’t created my first newsletter yet as I’ve been busy with end of summer adventures and making sure I get the fall flyers up and I am hoping to have one out before raffle season gets into full gear.

To help build a subscriber list and help our page grow even more, please subscribe to our newsletters! I promise your email will only be seen by myself, Admin, and I will not spam you. I’m computer smart but not that smart!

Until next time,

Admin

While I won’t give away as to who I am, I have been active in the Western New York Meat Raffle scene for a decade! Meat raffles have become a large part of my life and it excites me to finally have a chance to be able do more behind the scenes. I do a lot outside of meat raffles so I do ask that you be patient with me getting you answers on MC’s, posting fliers, and any other inquiries that you may have.

I’m not sure if he will read this, but I want to thank my predecessor, the OG Admin at WNYMeatRaffles.Com, for creating such an amazing website and allowing me to take over. He took something that started so small and turned it into something huge.

In the upcoming months, many things will change how you see and interact with the website. Some things will stick and some won’t. If you’d like to give feedback, I’ll post more on our blog as things change to receive any and all criticism. Remember, we wouldn’t have a successful website if it wasn’t for fantastic supporters!

New Policy Regarding Meat Raffle Information

Over the last few years, Meat Raffles have exploded in popularity here in WNY. This site now receives approximately 10 requests a day regarding information on meat raffles. Unfortunately, due to this crazy demand, we can no longer answer every email regarding meat raffles.

So as to not leave you without any meat raffle resource, starting immediately we will begin following these procedures for supplying you with information about meat raffles:

  • If you send a request asking for help running a meat raffle, we will forward your request to a few people that we know that provide this service. It is then up to them to contact you directly. Please remember that WNYMEATRAFFLES.COM DOES NOT RUN MEAT RAFFLES OURSELVES.
  • If you are looking for general information about meat raffles, we will honestly try our best to get back to you, but we can not guarantee that we will be able to keep up with the demand.

We hope you understand our need to scale back. Our best time spent will continue to be a free advirtising resource for meat raffles.

Why You Should Make Reservations for Meat Raffles

Meat Raffle Reservations. To make them or not to make them. That is a question that has plagued many meat raffle attendee. We know that there are times when attending a meat raffle is a spur of the moment idea so reservations are difficult. We also know that before WNYMeatRaffles.com, getting advanced notice of meat raffles meant scouring the web, making reservations a pain in the butt. But now things have changed, and there is a significant set of reasons why you should ALWAYS make a reservation for a meat raffle.

Preferred Seating, Possible Discounts and Other Bonuses

Most organizations running meat raffles want to encourage reservations. Attendees can often take advantage of this situation. Many meat raffle organizers will allow people with reservations preferred seating (like next to the bar or the rest rooms). Some meat raffles will offer discounts off admissions if you reserve a certain number of seats. Finally we have seen a couple of recent meat raffles offer free door prize tickets and even free 50/50 split tickets just for making reservations by a certain date (here is a link to a meat raffle offering free tickets http://www.wnymeatraffles.com/future-meat-raffles/2014/3/29/west-seneca-girls-travel-softball-12u-spring-meat-raffle).

Avoid Getting Turned Away at the Door

One of the most obvious reasons for making reservations for meat raffles is so that you don’t show up and end up getting turned away at the door. Nothing dampers your feelings about a good meat raffle than packing up all of your snacks, filling your car with all of your friends and then showing up at a meat raffle only to find out that they are sold out. The facilities that are rented out for meat raffles all have maximum capacities based on fire codes. Remember if this happens to you, it is not the fault of the meat raffle organizers, it’s your fault for not making a reservation.

The Most Important Reason – Making Sure the Meat Raffle has Enough Meat to Win

Most meat raffles now a days use reservations to plan for how much meat to purchase. Meat is very expensive and organizations can end up losing money on their fundraiser if they purchase too much meat. On the flip-slide, organization risk losing the trust of their patrons if they run low on meat. We have been to several local meat raffles where the organization ended up running short on meat because only 20% of the attendees had reservations. Even though most meat raffle organizers plan a small buffer for attendees without reservations, situations like these make the entire meat raffle experience unpleasant for everyone.

So remember, the point of meat raffles is for a not-for-profit organization to fundraise. Please try and help out by making your reservation as early as possible. Also, please remember to adjust your reservation just prior to the raffle so that the organization has an accurate number of true reservations that they can plan the event around. The more reservations an organization has, the better the meat raffle.

Quick note about the WNYMeatRaffles.com blog…

I just want to make a quick post about the blog functionality of the newly designed site. Right now you are only able to read comments that people write within the blog by clicking on the “Post a Comment” link on the right side of each article. When you click on the link, you will see all of the comments from other visitors at the bottom of each article.

Believe me this is not the intended functionality of the blog, but we are stuck with it for right now. Please don’t let this little glitch get in the way of reading and posting comments on our site.
